If the result was not what you expected
Ask for a review of the original treatment. Bring the product name, date, areas, amount if known, and any dated photos you want to discuss privately. Describe whether you noticed no change, a short-lived change, or a result that differed from your goal.
A review comes before a switch
An unsatisfactory response does not establish antibody-related resistance. Placement can affect apparent efficacy, and neutralizing antibodies can also contribute to treatment failure. Product choice alone cannot tell you the cause. Ask a qualified provider to assess the history before further treatment.
A previous allergy needs medical assessment
Xeomin is not an allergy-safe substitute for Botox. The manufacturer’s safety information warns against using Xeomin after an allergic reaction to another botulinum toxin product. Its formulation does not make it allergy-free. Tell the assessing clinician exactly what happened.
What to ask at your review
Was the response assessed at the appropriate time? Is the original goal realistic? What in my treatment record changes the recommendation? Should treatment be deferred? What are the risks and alternatives? Avoid repeated injections or brand changes without an assessment.
When not to wait for an appointment
Seek immediate medical help for trouble breathing or swallowing after an injection. A routine consultation request is not an emergency care channel.
